Did you know we provide FREE 20-minute consultations?
We know therapy isn’t a one-size-fits-all relationship, and we respect the time and commitment you’re making to take care of your mental health.
Chat with one of our therapists and ensure you feel like it’s a good fit before you take the leap.
At Village Counseling, we understand the importance of creating a safe and secure space where you can openly express your thoughts and feelings. Your privacy is our top priority, and we are committed to protecting the confidentiality of all client information.
Confidentiality in Therapy: All information shared during your therapy sessions is kept strictly confidential. This means that your personal details, session notes, and any other information discussed are not shared with anyone without your explicit consent, except in certain legally mandated situations (such as threats of harm to yourself or others, or court orders).
HIPAA Compliance: We follow all federal and state guidelines, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), to ensure that your health information is securely stored and protected. Whether you are attending in-person sessions or virtual appointments, your information is handled with the utmost care.
Telehealth Security: If you choose to meet with us virtually, rest assured that our telehealth platform is encrypted and secure. We take additional measures to protect your data during online sessions so that you can feel just as comfortable as you would in a face-to-face setting.
Exceptions to Confidentiality: While confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice, there are a few situations in which we are legally obligated to break confidentiality:
If there is a serious risk that you might harm yourself or someone else.
If there is suspicion of abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult.
If we receive a court order requiring the release of specific information.
If you ever have any questions or concerns about your privacy, feel free to discuss them with your therapist. We believe that a trusting and transparent relationship is key to effective therapy, and we are here to address any concerns you may have.
